Cost: Free
The Wall That Heals

Johns Creek, Georgia is honored to host “The Wall That Heals”, a traveling Veterans Memorial replica, March 30th through April 2nd, 2017.

This is the first of only two stops in Georgia that The Wall will make in 2017, and it will be open 24-hours a day and free to the public.

The Wall that Heals

The Wall That Heals honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed forces during the Vietnam War and bears the names of the more than 58,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.

The Wall features a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial found in Washington, D.C. Visitors can also view the mobile education center, filled with photos, letters and memorabilia left at The Wall in D.C.

Opening Ceremony

The Wall will be officially welcomed to Newtown Park, Thursday, March 30th at 10am, by Medal of Honor Recipient Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins, U.S. Army (ret), who will deliver a keynote address. The opening ceremony marks a four-day visit by the 250-foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Johns Creek Veterans Memorial Walk

The Wall will be on display steps away from the Johns Creek Veterans Memorial Walk, a world-class memorial located on four acres of a quiet, wooded section of Newtown Park. The Memorial consists of a landscaped, handicap-accessible trail lined with with black granite memorials commemorating every major conflict dating from World War I.

Throughout the weekend, the Johns Creek Veterans Association will be offering personal guided tours of the Memorial Walk. Tours will begin at 2, 4 & 6pm at the Memorial Plaza, March 30th – April 1st.
