Summer Concert Series at Newtown Park – Electric Avenue

September 3 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Electric Avenue

The Mark Burkhalter Park Amphitheater provides a delightful venue for the city-sponsored Summer Concerts. While food and non-alcoholic drinks may be brought in, contracted vendors provide a variety of catered food and beverages, including beer and wine. Seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome on the terraced lawn. The concerts are free.

Electric Avenue –

We don’t get to repeat even one minute of our time here. No do-overs. Movies can provide ‘make-believe’ time machines in 2D, but what if you could relive all of the youthful energy and sonic celebration that was 1980s New Wave & Radio Pop, without needing 1.21 GW of power at 88mph?  Every sound. Every nuance. Every feeling.

“If you close your eyes it’s 1985. This band is unbelievable.”
Christine Murphy, Manchester, CT

Time: Doors open at 3 p.m. to allow for the public to set up chairs/blankets. Music begins at 7 p.m.

Food trucks will be on-site. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Concerts are rain or shine! In the case of rain, attendees are welcome to bring umbrellas. No pop-up tents, please. If we experience lightning or severe weather, we may delay the start of the concert or evacuate if necessary.

The concerts are FREE. Gates open at 3 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. Outside alcohol is NOT allowed in the amphitheater. Please note: Dogs are NOT allowed in the Amphitheater area or at City Concerts and events (with the exception of service animals).

Table rentals will not be available for this concert. First come, first serve seating.
