Johns Creek Founders Day Parade

The Johns Creek Founders Day Parade is a kick-off to the holiday season. Some of the parade highlights include musical groups, local neighborhoods, schools, community organizations, civic clubs, and businesses.

The Parade began in 2007 and has since become an important community tradition. The parade has grown to more than 80 units and thousands of participants, including Shriner clowns, local high school clubs and bands, and colorful floats from area businesses, organizations and neighborhoods.

Special entries from previous years include: Seed & Feed Marching Abominable Band, Atholl Highlanders Pipes and Drums of Stone Mountain, knights and maidens from the Teacher of the Year Trolley, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile and more.

Where do I park:

Parking is available in lots located inside the parade route. If using a GPS, you can use the following addresses for parking:
11445 Johns Creek Parkway
11465 Johns Creek Parkway
11340 Lakefield Drive

Where can I view the Founders Day Parade:

Spectators are welcome to line Lakefield Drive between its intersections with Johns Creek Parkway (north end near LifeTime Fitness, south end near PVR Research), as well as along the western side of Johns Creek Parkway (north end near SAIA, south end near PVR Research).

The Reviewing Stand will be located near City Hall, 11360 Lakefield Drive. CBS46’s Karyn Greer will emcee the Johns Creek Founders Day Parade from the reviewing stand.

Traffic/Road Closure Timeline:

• 7:45 a.m. – Lakefield Drive closes between McGinnis Ferry Road and City Hall. Parade participants will be able to enter onto Lakefield Drive to access the parade staging area.
• 7:45 a.m. – Johns Creek Parkway from Technology Circle to Lakefield Drive. Traffic on Johns Creek Parkway will be diverted off Johns Creek Parkway onto Technology Circle.
• 9:45 a.m. – Lakefield Drive and sections of Johns Creek Parkway near the event parking lots will close.
