These are the traditions we look forward to as December approaches—familiar sounds, meaningful words—that speak to us of gathering together with those near to our hearts; of chilly clear nights and the bright North Star, the tempting aroma of baking holiday cookies, and the telling of stories passed down through generations, sometimes through centuries.
