But before you head down to Florida or zip off on the family vacay you’ve been day-dreaming about for weeks, we’ve got three incredible reasons to add Johns Creek to your SB17 itinerary (oh – and did we mention they’re all FREE?):

How often can you visit a Washington D.C. Memorial outside of the Capitol? Well, only twice in 2017 will you find The Wall that Heals in GA! Johns Creek is honored to host this half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Newtown Park, 3/30 – 4/2. The Memorial is open 24 hours, and is free & open to the public.

While stopping to view the Wall, you can also take part in a guided tour of Johns Creek Veterans Memorial Walk, a permanent symbol of remembrance and respect for all the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Services. Tours begin at 2, 4 & 6pm, and are free & open to the public.

Heritage Tours at Autrey Mill

Travel back in Atlanta Metro history on an Autrey Mill Heritage Tour! Tour guides lead you inside the historic Green General Store, which was the hub of this once rural community from the 1920s thru 1950s. The store is filled with amazing artifacts, including some that date back to WWI.

Tours take place Saturday 4/1 and Sunday 4/2 at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm and are free & open to the public.

SCAD Printmaking Exhibit at Johns Creek Arts Center

If you haven’t been to an exhibit at the Johns Creek Arts Center, you’ve got to change that, pronto! Their latest exhibit, “Breaking Ground: Innovation in Printmaking” features art designed exclusively by SCAD students, professors & alumni & is a treat to see. Exhibit is open for viewing 3/11-4/24 & will be officially welcomed with an opening reception Saturday night, 4/1 from 6:30-8pm.

Event is free and open to the public. Exhibit is available to view M-F, 9am-5pm & Saturday, 10am-2pm.
